Footage from the “Two Five Three” Video Premiere/My Birthday Party at The Cool. These past two weeks have been the best two weeks of my life. I still can’t believe that certain things that have took place actually happened. Someone pinch me and give me that reality check, or let me be so I can ride this dream out. The music video was a lot of work and a learning experience. Erik Soderquist put in hours and hours of work to finish it on time and lost plenty of sleep. Thank you Erik, JJ, Rennie, Cisco, Ronnie, Nick, everyone that was in the video, and to anyone that had anything to do with making this video happen. The amount of love and support that I have received for the song and video is overwhelming to me and it makes me feel like I did my job. It has made people miss home, it has made people teary eyed, it has made people rediscover why they love their city, and it has made people proud to be from here and rep it to the fullest with no shame. I’ve read the comments and I really appreciate them. I made this song and video for Tacoma and for nothing else. Thank you, everyone. Thanks to Ariel & Michael for the photos. |

Sunday, April 4th, 2010|
Last night was the in store for the Life of Villains spring collection launch. I was asked at the last minute to rock with SOTA due to some troubles that Shawn Chrystopher was having down in Los Angeles that prevented him from traveling up to Washington. It was good and probably healthy to get out of the dungeon from working on the album and actually be around friends. DJ Semaj held it down on the tables all night and it’s always a good time when I run into SOTA. Good friends, good music, a good vibe, and free beer, which equals a good Saturday. DJ Semaj setting up. Slim doing sound check. AJ Ron Burgundy & AJ Juan (Dance Broomz) Ryan, Toeb, & SOTA Thaddeus (SOTA) & Kingston (LOV) Roderic hopped on the mic. SOTA Ariel Payopay |
January 23d Artifakt Show At Jazzbones
Monday, January 25th, 2010|
I would like to thank everyone for coming out on Saturday night. It has been awhile since I have performed in my hometown and nothing feels better than to be back on stage in front of a packed house. I love the town for all of the love and support that you have given me throughout the years. I can’t say enough about how much I appreciate it. This was the first time that I’ve seen HellaDope live and they were amazing. I was happy that they performed Rainwater because I’ve been bumpin’ that joint non stop since they released it at the end of ‘09. Tay Sean and I also spoke about hopefully working together sometime in the near future. Those guys are very talented. What can I say about D. Black and the Sportin’ Life camp? I have been lucky enough to get to know these guys over the past year and they are some of my favorite people in the NW hip hop scene. Devon is always keeping me in mind about shows and always shows me love when I see him. Fatal is my dude! And yes, Fatal is going to be on my album. Spaceman is that guy and is always clowning on me about the 253 VS. 206 basketball game. This is the second show that D. Black and I have done together and I hope to do more in the future because we always have a lot of fun. This guy did God Like on Saturday! I think I put on a pretty good show and I try to set a certain vibe for the night, but after every show I am always looking back thinking I could have done better. I don’t think I will ever be at a comfortable place with this hip hop shit where I think I’m doing everything right. Regardless of how much thought I put into my work, I still had so much fun. It is always good bringing Logics and Fatal Lucciauno to the stage to do Boss’ Life because that song gets the crowd live. I closed the set with my song Two Five Three and I could not end the show any other way. I love doing that song in Tacoma. DJ Semaj held me down on the tables as always and as a matter of fact, he also held it down for D. Black. That is my boy and he is a hard working DJ/producer. I was happy to see so many faces in the house that night. There are way too many people to list, but here are photos from Saturday. These photos are a little bigger than the usual size that I use for my blog because it is early in the morning, I’m tired, and I do not feel like resizing all of them. On top of that, when I change the layout for this site, the pictures will be bigger anyways. Photos by Erik Soderquist.

The Clipse In Downtown Tacoma
Friday, September 11th, 2009
In Store At The CoolLast night was something out of the ordinary for downtown Tacoma, there were actually people down there. Kids, adults, girls, boys, rappers, and everything in between traveled into uncharted downtown land to meet The Clipse. Malice & Pusha T made their way through the crowd, and stepped inside the shop. They signed items, took photos with fans, spoke to fans, and did everything that real artists should do when dealing with the people who love your music, and support it. I think last night was a successful night for the shop, the city, and the downtown area. Thanks to everyone that came out. After the in store, we hopped into our cars, and went to Seattle to Sneaker Pimps. I don’t really think much about sneaker shows because I think that it’s kind of ridiculous, but I know how rare it is to see a Slick Rick show. Slick Rick, and The Clipse both put on a really good show, and The Clipse even gave The Cool a shout out on stage. Tacoma was definitely deep, and I think everyone had a really good time, and it was also good running into some Seattle friends.
Jiant stopped by earlier in the day.
Jason also stopped by.

Artoleptic
Monday, August 24th, 2009|
On Sunday D, Nick, Kingston, and I stopped by the Luxe Riot warehouse sale in Seattle, and picked up a few things. After we ate our pho, and Kingston ate his bread sandwich we went down to Pioneer Square to check out the Artoleptic art show.
